Blau Hotels, as a company specialising in the management of holiday resorts, recognises that a clean and healthy environment forms the basis of our services.
We feel a direct responsibility to ensure that our own economic development and that of our community are compatible with environmental protection, and to preserve a healthy and prosperous environment for future generations.
Our commitment
We are therefore committed to implementing environmental improvements across all our activities, particularly those that have an impact on: caring for the environment, the efficient use of resources and energy, the control and replacement of products, and their recycling.
We understand that proper environmental management must include the comprehensive control of all aspects that may have an environmental impact; in our case, this particularly includes those affecting water, soil and air quality, the protection of the surrounding natural environment and the conservation of natural resources.
For this reason, the General Management of Blau Hotels is committed to integrating the principles of the circular economy, efficient resource management and the reduction of environmental impact, with particular attention to:
► Preventing the waste of food and resources.
► Maximising the value of waste through reuse and recycling strategies.
► Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements affecting our operations, particularly those relating to the environment.
► Periodically reviewing and updating the policy and objectives of our environmental management system.
► Incorporating improvement measures and objectives related to circularity in the hotel sector, in the areas of energy, water, materials and resources, and food management, with the aim of reducing waste generation and the consumption of natural resources.
► Reviewing our suppliers’ environmental practices by encouraging the adoption of environmental criteria, particularly with regard to the procurement of environmentally friendly products and materials.
► Implement the necessary measures to prevent or reduce environmental impacts on the atmosphere, water and soil.
► Protect the natural and landscape values of the surrounding area.
► Raise staff awareness of their environmental responsibilities by providing them with the necessary training.
► Keep our customers informed of our environmental policy.
To implement the principles set out in this policy, action plans, objectives and targets are drawn up to enable continuous improvement.
The effectiveness of these plans will be assessed through regular environmental audits and reviews by senior management.
